The Young Citizen Project

The Young Citizen Project is a youth-led organization based in Missouri, built by and for young people who believe civic engagement shouldn’t wait until you turn 18. We’re students, first-time voters, and future leaders working together to make democracy feel accessible, relevant, and exciting for our generation.

Our mission is to empower young Missourians with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to participate in civic life. We believe an informed generation is an unstoppable one; so, we’re breaking down barriers to voting, civic education, and community involvement, one young person at a time.

We equip Missouri youth with the tools to show up and speak up. From up-to-date voter registration guides and election deadlines to breakdowns of local ballot measures, we make navigating civic participation simple. We also keep our community in the loop on Missouri news and events that matter and connect young people with opportunities to get civically involved.
